GRCME 2025: TSI in Business Schools

At this year’s Global Research Conference on Marketing and Entrepreneurship (GRCME) at Santa Clara University last month, Jens delivered a keynote to academics and practitioners from around the world. In his talk, he introduced Tri-Sector Innovation (TSI) and shared how TSI can unlock sustainability for all and create shared prosperity, moving beyond short-term fixes to build structural solutions that last.

The conversation didn’t stay abstract for long. In the afternoon, Jens led a hands-on workshop where participants brought forward real-world case studies — from poultry supply chains in the UK and Ireland to cotton reclamation and rebranding in global apparel supply chains. Together, the group explored how TSI could be applied to these challenges, showing how businesses facing cost pressures, waste challenges, or reputational risks can uncover new opportunities when they align with partners across sectors.

We’re especially grateful to Can Uslay and Fabian Eggers for hosting and making this session possible.

One of the most exciting aspects of GRCME is its reach. The 2025 conference convened dozens of scholars and practitioners from universities across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Their engagement underscored the universal relevance of Tri-Sector Innovation — and its potential to influence classrooms, research, and entrepreneurship worldwide.

The response at GRCME made one thing clear: there’s strong demand for approaches that are applied, impactful, and scalable. We’re excited to continue building on this momentum with the international network of educators and researchers who are rethinking how business, social, and public sector strengths can come together for greater impact.

At NewImpact, we’d love to see TSI taught in every university and college. If you’re interested in exploring how TSI could fit into your courses, research, or case studies, let’s connect. Thank you to Can Uslay and Fabian Eggers for a fantastic session and for inviting to this great event!

You can also explore our free tools and preview our Teaching Hub, which includes resources designed to make it easy to bring TSI into classrooms and practice.
